On May 7, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Facility Representative Sofia Flores to conduct an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. Present during today's visit were 24 preschoolers and 5 staff. The teacher/child ratio was being met today. The center was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 7:45am \342\200\223 5pm Monday through Friday. Classrooms : The preschool operates out of two classrooms. The sink and toilets are observed to be clean and in proper working order. The facility has age appropriate materials in all classrooms that are observed to be clean and in good condition. All toxins, cleaning products, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. The children bring water bottles from home and refill them throughout the day from the water fountain located at the end of the hall. The center is equipped with a working Carbon Monoxide detector in Classroom 2, hardwired smoke detectors, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has a waiver to share the restroom with the elementary school on the premises. Outdoor : The outdoor play area is clean with ample age appropriate materials for the children. The yard is fully fenced in and has plenty of shade for the children. LPA did not observe any harmful or unattended bodies of water in or around the facility. The facility does not have any play structures on the premises. Isolation area : Is in classroom 2 Food Service : The center does not provide any meals or snacks for the children. In the event a child forgets a meal or snack, or does not have enough, the facility will provide a small snack and/or inform the child's parent right away so they can bring food for their child. Records: A physical census of the children was taken and cross referenced with the sign-in and out log, all children were properly signed in. LPA reviewed 6 children files which were all complete. LPA reviewed five staff files, 4 of the 5 staff files reviewed were missing Mandated Reporter certificates. Additionally, 3 of the 5 staff did not have a fingerprint clearance. The parent board was inspected and had required postings attached to the board. Multiple staff have a CPR certificate which expires 1/17/27. The last fire drill conducted was on 4/15/25. Facility Representative was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Personnel Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drill must be conducted every six (6) months and documented. Facility Representative was reminded that California Law requires all facilities to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care, to child's parents, and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone or fax. LPA informed the Facility Representative that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov . Facility Representative was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("General" and "Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting www.mandatedreporterca.com . Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . CCC COMPLETED LEAD TESTING AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCE DETECTED. LPA referred Director to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information . Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Upon receipt of this report, facility shall provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of all children in care at the facility by the end of the business day or the next day the child is in care, and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. All parents/guardians must sign an acknowledgement form of proof of receiving this report (LIC 9224). The LIC 9224 must be placed in the child's file to be reviewed by licensing. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
