What the inspector wrote

On 8/17/22, a Case Management Visit was conducted for a change of capacity and adding additional rooms by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay. LPAs met with center director, Gina Velez. Hours of operation are from 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The program will be moved to left side of the building. The previously licensed rooms will no longer be in use. Measurements were conducted for the 3 new rooms: INDOOR: 2,192.41 sq ft = 62 children OUTDOOR: 2,842.31 sq ft = 38 children A fire clearance was received on 07/26/22 from the Contra Costa Fire Protection Department for 40 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry. Playground equipment is in good condition. A waiver for the outdoor play area will be submitted. Drinking water is available inside and outside. The facility has 3 toilets and 5 sinks for children to utilize. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. Snacks are provided by facility and lunches are brought from home. Paper form sign in and out is utilized. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit, working telephone, carbon monoxide detector, a pull down fire alarm, and a 3A40BC fire extinguishers. Director Gina Velez was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. See 809-C for continuance. A license for preschoolers is effective today, 8/17/22 with a total capacity of 40 and is ready to be used when facility is ready. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Gina Velez.
