Facility-requested visit·May 12, 2023

On 05/12/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Guirit arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection for a change of capacity and add room. LPA met with Owners, Gail and Alan Pavlosky. Present for today's inspection were 101 children and 23 staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:45am-5:30pm. LPA conducted a tour of all the classrooms to conduct a health and safety inspection. All measurements remain the same from previous inspection. Additional room measurements are as follows: INDOORS: 373.11 sq ft = 10 children Previous measurements gave the facility a total of 122 children, which will make the facility capacity now at 132 children total. There are a total of 12 classrooms. A fire clearance was received from the El Cerrito Fire Department for 138 preschoolers two years to first grade entry, and 12 toddlers, 18-36 months. LPA observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. An additional bathroom that is next to the outdoor play area has been added for preschool children. There are now a total number of 10 toilets and 11 sinks for children's use. The outdoor play areas are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play areas. LPA observed ample amount of shade for children. The building has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. See 809-C for continuance. A license for a capacity of 132 preschoolers is effective today, 5/12/23. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Owners, Gail and Alan Pavlosky and an exit interview was conducted.
