What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Cherie Acosta and Karina Canela conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to ensure compliance with AB2866 pool safety requirements. LPAs met with licensee Leslie Ramirez. There were 3 school aged children and 4 preschool aged child in care. LPA observed licensee's pool to be enclosed by use of a metal fence and wooden fence. The fence has a self closing/latching gate that opens away from the pool. The fence does not obstruct the view of the pool. Licensee has a pool alarm that sounds upon entry to the pool. Licensee has a life ring that it is approved by the United States Coast Guard. Licensee has a rescue pole with a body hook and fixed length of 14 1/2 feet The wooden portion of the enclosure has protrusions and holes that could be used as handholds or footholds. The pool gate does not have a key lockable device. The vertical clearance at the bottom of the pool enclosure to the ground ranges from 3 inches to 5 inches. See 809-D for deficiency cited today. Notice of Site Visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days. Exit interview and report reviewed with Leslie Ramirez.
