On 11/18/2025 at 12:15PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaleesa Jackson met with Director Chaya Berkowitz for an Unannounced 3 year Required Inspection. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. During today's inspection there were 4 infants and 2 fingerprint cleared staff present. The facility operates from 8:00AM \342\200\223 6:00PM, Monday \342\200\223 Friday. The facility is dual licensed with preschool license #073408242 . The facility has age appropriate materials in the classrooms that were observed to be clean and in good condition. During today's inspection, all toxins, cleaning products, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. All cribs were clean, well maintained, and free from defects. All cribs had tightly fitting sheets. The diapering areas were clean, properly cushioned and free from any defects. The facility has smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers on site. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment have cushioned material to absorb falls. Director states there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA reviewed 4 children's files and 3 staff files. Opening and closing staff have current Pediatric CPR and First Aid. The facility is operating within their licensed capacity and is in ratio. All required postings are made visible in the entry way of the facility. The disaster drills have been complete at least every six months. The last disaster drill was 11/13/2025. Continued on 809-C There were no deficiencies cited on today's inspection. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP.). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives (Interim Licensing Standards) outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. LPA also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
