What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Petersen conducted an annual random site inspection for this facility at 11:05 AM. LPA met with director, Analyn Patten and toured all areas licensed for childcare use for a health and safety inspection. Also present at this preschool at the time of this inspection were four additional teaching staf (all four qualified teachers) and 16 preschool age children in care. The facility is within ratio and capacity and children are being directly supervised. All adults present at this program are background cleared. This program is the preschool component of a combination child care center which also includes and infant care program. Preschool classrooms have age-appropriate furnishings, equipment and play items which are free of broken or sharp pieces. Counters and surfaces, including floors, are free of toxins and observed hazardous conditions. There are no hazardous items/toxic cleaning items observed to be accessible to children in care. Bathrooms are age appropriate and toilets and faucets are in working condition. The most recent fire department inspection was 07/2021. There are multiple carbon monoxide detectors as well as fully charged fire extinguishers present. Per director, there are no firearms present or stored on the premises. There are drinking water pitchers present in the classrooms and outdoors along with cups available for children. Children bring their own lunches and the facility serves snacks. There is a snack menu posted. There is napping equipment available for children and children's napping linens/bedding are stored separate for individual child use and laundered at least weekly. There are individual storage areas/cubbies for children's belongings. The outdoor play area is fully enclosed/fenced. There is one piece of high climbing equipment/slides present which is securely anchored and has cushioning under/around the equipment. Outdoor play equipment and furnishings are free of sharp/hazardous pieces. There are no pools, ponds or other bodies of water accessible to children. Staff records were reviewed for teacher qualifications, health screening reports, mandatory reporter training certificates and immunization records. Teacher qualification form was completed for one staff during this inspection. Multiple staff present have current CPR/First Aid certification.
