What the inspector wrote

A Prelicensing Visit was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit. LPAs met with Director Linda Frazier-Stafford and on boarding site supervisor Director Michele Freeman. The applicant submitted an application for an infant license. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The center has a preschool program on-site (license #07021159). The infant program will operate in 1 classroom, Room 3, Monday to Friday from 6:45am-5:45pm. The measurements are as follows: INDOORS: 579.4 square feet = 17 children OUTDOORS: 4799.05 square feet = 64 children All classrooms are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. The infant program will serve crib-aged infants in Room 3. There is a separate crib area with 6 cribs for crib-aged infants. The diaper changing table is within arms reach of a sink. There are 3 sinks available for children. The play therapy room and staff bathroom will serve as isolation areas for ill children. There is a separate small infant play yard that is separate from preschool children that can be used until it reaches the max capacity of 14 infants. Infants will also share toddler play yard. Director is reminded that toddler play structure will be off limits to the infants and will require 100% supervision. The infant yard is fenced all around and is cushioned with poured rubber. There is sufficient shade in the infant play yard and snacks, breakfast, and lunch are provided to infants. There is a kitchen available. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out. This facility is reminded of Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS has been submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm . Mandated reporter, appeal rights, civil penalties, unusual incident reporting, fingerprint requirements, and COVID protocols were discussed today. Licensee is also being informed of the web address ( www.ccld.ca.gov ) for downloading child care forms, and checking Provider Information Notices (PINs). T he director is encouraged to email ChildCareAdvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. The director is also reminded that mandated reporter training is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Zero Tolerance policies were explained. The center is found to be clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. A license for 17 infants will be issued effective today 8/26/21 An exit interview was conducted with Site Supervisor/ Director Linda Frazier-Stafford. A copy of this report, notice of site visit, and appeal rights was provided to Director Linda.
