Routine inspection (3-year)·July 23, 2025

On 07/23/2025 at 8:48am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Dana Santiago and Ashley Hollinger met with Site Supervisor Raissha Seeley for an Unannounced Required Annual Inspection . Later Executive Director Michelle Grant joined the inspection. There were 35 preschool age children in care and five additional fingerprint cleared teachers. The teacher/ child ratio was being met today. The center was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 7:00am \342\200\223 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The preschool operates on the property of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, towards the back area. The school operates out of 2 main classrooms, staff lounge, and a small transition/walk through room. The room floors, surfaces, furniture and equipment appear to be safe, sanitary and in good repair. The heating and lighting and ventilation is adequate. There are a total of three toilets and four sinks available for the children which are sanitary and in operational condition. There are supplies available for the children to wash and dry their hands. There is a separate bathroom for staff. The activities and toys appear to be age appropriate for the children in care. The outside play area is the fenced in with a shaded areas and age appropriate toys, that appear to be in good repair. There is a swing set that has been permanently anchored and sandboxes are properly covered when not in use. Children bring their own labeled water bottles from home are refilled throughout the day. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water, free standing water, cleaning supplies, or toxic items accessible to children during today's inspection. The center prepares and provides snacks and lunches to the children while in care. Lunches are prepared using the church's kitchen which was maintained in a clean manner. There are current menus posted in both classrooms. The center is providing 1% milk to children in care. The children have their own cubes to store personal belongings and bedding. All children have access to clean drinking water in each classroom. The fire system is hard wired, there are 2 working carbon monoxide detectors in each of the classrooms and 2 fully charged fire extinguishers (2A-10-BC). All required documents are posted for public review. Report continued on Page 2------- Page 2--------- Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months, the last drill was recorded on 2/13/25. The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit and a working telephone. A review of six children's files and six present staff files were reviewed and all files were maintain within regulations. All staff have been fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. A current children's roster and Personnel report was obtained during the inspection. Lead results were shared and emailed to LPA Santiago. No exceedances were cited. Site Director was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Personnel Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drill must be conducted every six (6) months and documented. Site supervisor was reminded that California Law requires all facilities to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care, to child's parents, and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours by phone, fax, or email. LPAs informed Site Supervisor that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov . Site Supervisor was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("General" and "Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting www.mandatedreporterca.com . This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s files and administrative records. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
