What the inspector wrote

On 06/02/2022, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay conducted a Pre-Licensing inspection today, for a change of Ownership. LPAs met with Director, Deborah Joyce. LPAs toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. No children were present at the time of this inspection. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM . Facility will utilize an electronic sign in/out and paper form as a back up. Measurements are as follows: - Preschool Indoor: 1,339.18 sq ft = 38 children; Toddler Indoor: 943.78 sq ft = 27 children - Preschool Outdoor: 3,059.82 sq ft = 40 children; Toddler Outdoor: 2,020.46 sq ft = 27 children A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 82, was received from the ECC Fire Protection Department. A clearance for 41 preschoolers ages 2 years to first grade entry and 41 toddlers ages 18 months to 36 months. LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are 6 toilets and 7 sinks for children to utilize. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPAs observed outdoor play area, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There are two sand boxes that appear to be clean and maintained. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. The building has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector in each classroom and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Per Director, children will be bringing their own lunches and water bottles, with water still accessible to children inside and outside . The isolation area will be in the area next to the office. See 809-C for continuance. Director, Deborah Joyce is a qualified Director with current CPR/FA and mandated reporter training's completed. Mandated Reporter training is current and completed. If this facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm . Mandated reporter and appeal rights, civil penalties, unusual incident reporting and fingerprint requirements were discussed today. LPAs reviewed responses and provided technical assistance including postings. Licensee is also being informed of the web address ( www.ccld.ca.gov ) for downloading child care forms, and the director is encouraged to email ChildCareAdvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. The director is also reminded that mandated reporter training is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Preschool license for a capacity of 38 preschool children and 27 toddlers, totaling 65 children will be made part of the license, effective today 06/02/22, and can be used when the facility is ready. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Director, Deborah Joyce, and an exit interview was conducted.
