What the inspector wrote

On 05/12/2026 at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted an Case Management Inspection at Baby Yale Academy. LPA met with Director, Jennifer Pierre and explained the purpose of today's inspection. During today's inspection, there were 5 infant children with 2 staff in 1 classroom. Director stated there are 7 infant children enrolled. LPA was present for an inspection for another component. LPA conducted a physical plant inspection and upon inspection, LPA observed an infant in a baby bouncer. LPA observed the child in the bouncer for about 45 minutes. California code of Regulations, Title 22 prohibits baby bouncers in a child care facility. This facility is out of compliance with California code of Regulations, Title 22. NOTE: A "baby walker" means any article described in paragraph (4) of subdivision (a) of Section 1500.86 of Part 1500 of Title 16 of the Code of Federal Regulations which includes Baby Bouncer. LPA Christina Watts informed Director that this report dated 05/12/2026 with 1 Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Furthermore, LPA Watts informed the Director to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 05/12/2026 that documents any Type A citation(s) to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Jennifer Pierre. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
