What the inspector wrote

Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mai Lor, and Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) Belinda DeVall met with Applicant Lita Reeves for the purpose of an announced pre-licensing continuation. Applicant requests a preschool license to serve 24 preschool children from age two to entry into first grade. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The fire clearance was received and granted on 5/5/2023. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are two preschool classrooms. AS used the preschool classrooms measurements from report dated 7/19/2023. The total classroom space contains a total of 840 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 24 preschool children. Bathroom #106 will be designated for the preschool children. There are two toilets and one sink in bathroom #106 and a second portable sink in the first preschool classroom. Preschool children located in preschool room one will walk over to preschool classroom two to utilize bathroom #106. Staff will utilize the shared bathroom #107 with the school-age children as stated in the waiver request OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one preschool/school-age outdoor area on the property which will be per waiver request. The outdoor play area is located across the plaza parking lot towards the left side facing the building. Prior to usage, staff will expect the outdoor area and to insure that it is safe, clean, and ready to use. Applicant will have staff utilize a walking rope for the preschool children when walking to and from the outdoor space from the child care center providing director supervision. Staff will be designated in the front and back of the walking rope line. The outdoor play area is fenced with a wrought iron fence that is at least four feet tall and separates the preschool yard from the infant yard. Report continues LIC809-C. AS used outdoor area measurements from report dated 7/19/2023. The outdoor play area contains a total of 5,098 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 24 preschool children. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Applicant, Lita Reeves. Effective today, 7/28/2023, AS will license the facility to serve 24 preschool children from age 2 years to entry into first grade.
