What the inspector wrote

On 07/23/2025 at 12:45pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Dana Santiago and Christina Watts met owner Gladys Perez for an Unannounced Required Annual Inspection . There were no preschool age children in care since the school is temporary closed for summer. The center was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 7:00am \342\200\223 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has 7 sinks and 5 toilets. The building has fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers in each classroom, working fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Children will utilize personal reusable water bottles, with water still accessible to children inside and outside . Facility will provide snacks and lunch for children. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out. LPAs observed the outdoor play yards, which are fully fenced. LPAs observed two play structures. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structure and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. All required documents are posted for public review. Report continued on Page 2------- Page 2------- The isolation area will be in the Director/Staff office for ill children. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water, free standing water, cleaning supplies, or toxic items accessible to children during today's inspection. FILE REVIEW: Due to temporary closure, Children sign in/out procedures and logs were not reviewed. Parents use an electronic system to sign in. Sample of children and staff files was taken for review. There was at least one teacher with current certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid. Mandated reporter training was expired or missing in some staff files. A technical violation was issued and owner will provide certificate of completions to LPA before the school reopens. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Owner was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. Due to temporary closure, LPA did not reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. There are no deficiencies being cited today. Report and exit interview was conducted with Owner, Gladys Perez. A Notice of Site inspection was provided and be posted for 30 consecutive days.
