Facility-requested visit·April 25, 2025

On 4/25/2025 at approximately 1:00pm, Licensing Program Analysts Jamel Maiwandi and Dana Santiago conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with director Diana Alejo. Applicant Amrita Ghai was not present during this inspection. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 37 preschool children ages 2 years to entry into first grade in the main building. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday 7:00am to 5:30pm. Present during today’s inspection were 23 children with 4 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPAs informed director that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 1297.93, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 37 preschool children. There is a functioning carbon monoxide detector located in the facility. There is a dedicated phone line for the facility and a digital sign in and sign out system with a paper sign/out system as a back up. There is adequate storage spaces in the main building and the isolation for sick children will be in the directors office. The food preparation area is located in the main building and is inaccessible to children while not in use. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Cleaning and disinfectant agents are located in food prep area and the staff room and are inaccessible to children. There is a first aid kit located in the food prep area and medications are stored in the teacher lounge area. Drinking water is available in the food prep area via filtered water. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 3/25/2025. Report continues on page 2 Page 2 LPAs observed a total of 3 sinks and 3 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 37 preschool children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area with a fence made of wood which is at least four feet high, with two emergency exits located in the outdoor play area as well. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 4875.33 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 37 preschool children. Shade is provided via a large umbrella and surrounding trees. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children ages 3 and up as per director Diana Alejo which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of the play structure provided by poured rubber. Drinking water is available via children’s water bottles. LPAs observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director was reminded to ensure all outlets and loose materials are inaccessible to children while in the outdoor play area and any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. No corrections are needed. A license for 37 preschool children will be granted upon a final review and LPM approval.
