What the inspector wrote
On January 26, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Licensee Veronica Galvez for an
Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection
. Present during the inspection were the Licensee and 5 preschoolers. Residing in the home are the Licensee, her fingerprint cleared adult daughter, and two small dogs. The operating days and times are Monday - Friday 6am-6pm. The home was toured for a health and safety check.
The home is a single family house consisting of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area, garage, and fully fenced in backyard.
On Limit Areas
- The bedroom at the end of the hall, the first bedroom on the left from the hallway, living room, dining area, backyard, and hallway bathroom.
Off Limit Areas
- The second bedroom on the left from the hallway with an attached bathroom, kitchen, and the garage. Licensee is reminded that all off limit areas are kept inaccessible through locked/closed doors, baby gates, and/or visual supervision.

All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA observed the following precautions: the electrical outlets have child-proof outlet covers, the dogs are separated at the far end of the backyard, and the off limit rooms have closed doors to prevent children access.
There is no fireplace in the home, open-faced heaters, and no wall heaters in the home. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. There were no pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds and similar bodies of water on the premises.
The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher in the kitchen and a working combined carbon monoxide and smoke detector in the hallway next to the kitchen. Licensee has a working telephone, and all required forms are posted and visible for public view in the entryway. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 12/3/25. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on
1/27/26.
LPA reviewed 5 children\342\200\231s files and all files were complete.
LPA reviewed one staff file, which was missing a current Mandated Reporter certificate. The Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a
mandated reporter
and the requirement to renew the Mandated Reporter certificate every two years. The Licensee was reminded that the Mandated Reporter Training can be taken

. The Licensee stated she does not have Liability Insurance and has the "Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance in Family Child Care Home" (LIC 282) in all the children's files.

LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee Veronica Galvez, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility.
