On 01/29/2025 at 9AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kareeca \342\200\234Reeca\342\200\235 Sykes met with Licensee Sandra Reyes for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection . Present during the inspection were the Licensee and the licensee adult son who is fingerprint cleared arrived shortly after LPA. During the inspection there were six (6) children in care; one (1) infants and five (5) preschoolers. Residing in the home are Licensee, Licensee's minor grandchild, Licensee's spouse, adult son, and adult daughter who are all fingerprint cleared. Licensee\342\200\231s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates Monday - Friday 6:30AM \342\200\223 5PM. The home is a single story home that consists of four (4) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, garage, and backyard. The entrance to the day care is the front door. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. Toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas during todays inspection. LPA observed the following precautions accessible cabinets and drawers in the kitchen have safety latches and the fire place is blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home and one pet (small dog) in the home. LPA did not observe a body of water in or around home. ON LIMITS AREA: Living Room (Main Day Care Area) , Bathroom (In the hallway to the left) , Bedroom 1 (In the hallway to the left) , the family room, and the backyard OFF LIMITS AREA: Kitchen (Partially used as a walkway to enter the backyard requiring 100% supervision) , Master Bedroom, Master Bathroom , Bedroom 2 , Bedroom 3, and the garage. ISOLATION AREA: Is located in bedroom 1. Continued on Page 2 Page 2 The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a working duel smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the hallway and a working telephone, and all required forms are posted. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on 07/18/24. Licensee CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on 02/19/2025 . The Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter and has provided proof of the required training for all people caring for children which was conducted on 09/28/2023 . LPA reviewed six children\342\200\231s files at 10:20AM and obtained a current facility roster. The licensee is incompliance with the immunization law. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Continued on Page 3 Page 3 Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Sandra, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
