What the inspector wrote

THIS IS AN AMENDED REPORT FROM THE ORIGINAL DATED FEBRUARY 2, 2024. On February 2, 2024 at 12:45PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nyeesha Blount met with Licensee Plaza, Cecilia for an announced change of location inspection. Present for this inspection was licensee and (1) assistant who is background cleared. The home was inspected with the Licensee to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 5:30PM. The home is a One story home consisting of kitchen, dining room, living room, (4) bedrooms, (2) bathrooms, daycare room, backyard. The daycare operates in the daycare room in the backyard and during nap time inside the home which is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of the children. There is also a fully fenced in backyard. The OFF LIMIT AREAS: will be the left and right sides surrounding the home which will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The ON LIMIT AREAS: the front yard, dining room, living room, kitchen, (4) bedrooms, (2) bathroom, day care room and backyard. The ISOLATION AREA: will be in the dining room at the table. The outdoor play area will be the backyard. The play structures are secured and has cushioning to absorbs falls. There are ample age appropriate toys that are safe and clean and in great condition. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children today. There is a round grey hot tub that has a cover and fully secured with (6) latches all around, The hot tub is located outside of the master bedroom on the side of the house that is an OFF LIMIT AREA inaccessible to the children in care. The home has (2) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, a working Carbon Monoxide detector, a working telephone, and fully stocked First Aid Kit. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on December 23, 2025 . Per Licensee, there are no firearms in the home. The Licensee is the home owner. The reason of the location change was Licensee had the home remodeled and the front door was changed from the left side of the home that falls under address 6822 Lincoln Ave El Cerrito, Ca 94530 to right side of the home that currently falls under address 557 Everett St El Cerrito, Ca 94530. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was reminded about importance to stay in compliance with mandated reporter training and maintenance of sleep logs for all infants in care . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. License for a Change of Location will be granted, effective today, February 2, 2024. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Plaza, Cecila .
