What the inspector wrote

9:15AM Licensing Program Analyst Tasha Alexander met with licensee Janell Collins for an unannounced 1 YEAR/REQUIRED inspection. Licensee, her assistant Kiarra Powell and 3 preschool age children are present for the inspection. It is noted that 1 child in care is the licensee own child. LPA toured the facility and backyard for a health and safety inspection. The children's files were reviewed.. The home is equipped with a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke alarm and working carbon monoxide detector. Both were tested today. There is a working telephone in the home, no change in phone number. There are no firearms located on the premises per licensee. There are no swimming pools or other bodies of water. All poisons, cleaning solutions and medications are inaccessible to children in care and are located in the off limits master bedroom and off limits laundry room. Licensee and assistant have current CPR and 1st Aid training cards which expires 9/2023 and 11/2022 respectively. The off limits areas are the entire upstairs which includes 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, son's downstairs bedroom and the garage. Licensee was also informed of the licensing web address ( www.ccld.ca.gov ) for downloading child care forms and ( www.myccl.com ) to register to receive child care updates. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Effective September 1, 2016, a person may not work or volunteer at a child care center or family child care home unless he or she has been vaccinated against pertussis, measles and influenza or has an exemption. Licensee's vaccinations are in file. Licensee now decline the flu vaccine Assistant's vaccines are in file. Today mandatory mandated reporter training course has also been discussed. Licensee's certificate expired 3/2022. Assistant's certificate is up to date- expires 9/15/23 Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
