What the inspector wrote
On January 29, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with Licensee Jennifer Ruiz-Argueta for an
Annual
/
Random Inspection
. Present during today's visit were the licensee, three (3) infants, eight (8) preschoolers, and the Licensee's three (3) fingerprint cleared assistants. Residing in the home is Licensee, Licensee's spouse, mother, father, and pet dog. All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared. LPA conducted a tour of the daycare areas for a health and safety check. The operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm.
The home is a single story house which consists of a living room, kitchen, dining room, garage, three (3) bedrooms, and two bathrooms.
ON LIMIT AREAS:
Living room, kitchen, dining area, bedroom on the left of the hallway, hallway bathroom, and the backyard.
OFF LIMIT AREAS:
Both bedrooms on the right of the hallway, master bathroom, and garage, the left side walkway, and the brick portion of backyard. Licensee is reminded that all off limit areas are kept inaccessible through locked/closed doors, baby gates, and visual supervision.
ISOLATION AREA:
bedroom to the left of the hallway.
All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. The home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has safe toys, play equipment, and materials available to
the children. The home has a central heating system and vents are not accessible to children. Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. There are no pools, fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spa, fish pond or any similar bodies of water on the daycare premises. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher located in the dining area next to the sliding doors. There is a working smoke detector located in the living room and a carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway across from the bathroom. Licensee has a working telephone, and all required forms are posted and visible for public view next to the main entrance which is through the sliding doors on the right side of the house.
LPA reviewed four (4) staff files. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on
3/9/26. LPA reminded the Licensee that the Mandated Reporter certificates have to be renewed every two years and can be taken with CoCoKids or online at
www.MandatedReporterca.com
. LPA reviewed five (5) children\342\200\231s files and all files were complete. The infant files had a completed Individual Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC 9227) and infant sleep logs were maintained.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended
they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee Jennifer Ruiz-Argueta, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
