AzsCQASWAXFrD3QS2On 07/28z/22 at 1:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Christina Watts conducted a Case Management Inspection (Change of Capacity) at Monica Santoyo's family day care and met with Licensee, Monica. LPA explained the purpose of today's inspection. Licensee currently is licensed as a Small Family Child Care Home with a capacity of eight (8). During today's inspection, there were 5 children in care (3 infants and 2 preschool children) including licensee's 17 month old child. Days and hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Residing in the home: Licensee, licensee adult child and licensee two minor children ages 14 yrs old and 1.5 yr old. Present during the inspection is licensee niece. LPA reminded licensee her niece can visit the home while children are in care but to limit contact with children as niece does not have fingerprint clearance. Licensee completed her Pediatric CPR/First Aid which expires 01/2024 and Mandated Reporter, which expires 09/2022. LPA reminded licensee Mandated Reporter training expires every two years and it is licensee responsibility to maintain validity. Licensee has documentation maintained for Measles, Pertussis Immunization's and influenza vaccine. There is a working telephone in the home. Fire clearance request was approved 06/27/2022 by Rebecca Lauricella of Pinole Fire Department. LPAs inspected the indoor space of the home. This is a one story home on a hill that consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, family room (daycare room), office (nap room) living room, attached garage. IN-USE AREAS: Family Room (Daycare room), Office (infant nap room), kitchen, bathroom, and lower back yard area. OFF LIMIT AREAS : Living room, 3 bedrooms including master bedroom and master bathroom, dining room, attached garage, deck and backyard INDOOR SPACE : The home is sanitary, safe and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There is a fireplace in the family room which is made inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Medicines, cleaning products, sharp objects are made inaccessible to children. Door access to the attached garage from the family room is made inaccessible to children while in care. LPA reminded that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers and similar items are not allowed in family child care homes. There are no stairs in the home. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. The facility is home to a rooster, 2 hens, 2 chickens and a dog. OUTDOOR SPACE : LPA toured the outdoor area and observed fenced backyard. Outdoor space has two areas made for infants and preschool children. LPA observed age appropriate toys for children. Backyard also has deck and two chicken coops, which one is not completed. Backyard area also had an area for the dog. Both areas are made inaccessible to children while in care. LPA discussed with licensee that there needs to be 100% supervision when children play outside. LPA observed 2 side gates for off-limit areas. Day care entrance will be on the right side of the house where there is a door entering to the family room (daycare room). LPA discussed and reminded Applicant day care needs to be operated within the limitations and capacity of a Large Family Child Care Home with regards to ratios and that Licensee has to be present in the day care for 80% of the operation hours. The Licensee was reminded that an assistant is needed with a large family child care home license, and whenever an assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small family child care home. All documents have been reviewed for the increase of capacity application. There are no deficiencies cited today. Effective as of 07/28/ 2022, Licensee Monica Santoyo capacity increase application has been approved. Exit interview was conducted with Licensee Monica Santoyo and signed the report acknowledging receipts of documents.
