What the inspector wrote

On 10/26/23 at 3:00PM Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Nyeesha Blount arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Arroyo, Nicole. The normal hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:30PM- 5:30PM and Wednesday 2:00PM- 5:30PM. An application was received for a capacity increase from a small family child care to Large family Child care. LPA conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with Arroyo. No changes were made throughout the facility since facility was licensed. A Fire clearance was received approving the capacity from 8 to 14 children dated 09/13/23. Special conditions listed Garage is off limits to children. Last Fire/ Earthquake Drill was conducted on 07/20/23. The home is a one story home. The home consists of a living room, kitchen, classroom, (2) bedrooms, (1) bathroom, fenced backyard, and garage. OFF LIMITS AREAS will be the (2) bedrooms, pantry, and garage. The home has a 2A10BC fire extinguisher and five working smoke detectors, pull down alarm. Mrs. Arroyo states that there are no firearms in the home. There is central heating. The isolation area will be in the classroom across from the living room. CPR and First Aid are current and available. Mrs. Arroyo will use her back yard for outdoor play. Children and Staff records were reviewed. LPA reviewed with licensee the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Per incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. To receive important licensed-related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE Arroyo, Nicole, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Arroyo, Nicole. Licensed effective October 26, 2023. .
