What the inspector wrote

On 05/14/2025 at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted a case management at Janeene Bellot's large family child care. LPA met with licensee Janeene Bellot and explained the purpose of this visit. During today's inspection, there were 13 children in care (2 infants, 9 preschoolers and 2 school age children) with 1 assistant. Licensee stated there are 15 children enrolled. Licensee has Criminal Record Clearance. LPA is following up on an Unusual Incident that was reported to licensing. LPA toured the facility, observed on limits areas, reviewed files, conducted interviews and obtained relevant documents. Based on information obtained, this allegation NEEDS FURTHER INVESTIGATION . During today's inspection, LPA observed 1 uncleared staff caring and supervising 13 daycare children. California code of Regulations, Title 22 state all staff caring and supervising children are required to have Criminal Record Clearance prior to working in a facility. Also during today's inspection, LPA observed 13 children in care and observed 3 school age enter the facility. LPA observed 15 daycare children in care. California code of regulation also states that a licensee cannot have more children than the license allows. The licensee is out of compliance with California code of Regulations, Title 22. LPA Christina Watts informed licensee, Janeene Bellot that this report dated 05/14/20225, documents 2 Type B citations. Type B citation(s) are a potential risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. LPA Christina Watts assessed a civil penalty of $100 for staff failure to complete caregiver back check in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 22. Exit interview was conducted with licensee, Janeene Bellot. Appeal rights were provided. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED AND MUST BE POSTED FOR 30 CONSECUTIVE DAYS.
