What the inspector wrote

On October 29, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza arrived unannounced to conduct an Annual/Random inspection and a Capacity Increase inspection. LPA met with Licensee Patricia Rodriguez. The Licensee also requested to place a portion of her backyard On Limits for outdoor play. Present during today's visit were one infant, one preschooler, the Licensee's spouse, and the Licensee. Living in the home are the Licensee, her husband, and two minor children. LPA toured the home for a Health and Safety check. Hours of operation are 7am - 5:20pm Monday - Friday. The home is a single story home consisting of the living room, dining room, kitchen, family room with attached bathroom, three bedrooms, hallway bathroom, laundry room, and a fully fenced in backyard - which has a standard sized shed and two small storage sheds. The Off Limit Areas are all three bedrooms, hallway bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and backyard. The off limits areas are made inaccessible by gate, and closed and/or locked doors. The On Limit Areas are the family room and attached bathroom. Isolation Area - on the couch in the family room The inside of the home is observed to be neat, clean with ample age-appropriate materials for the children. All toxins and cleaning products were observed to be in inaccessible areas. The home has one fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher in the family room. There is a working combined carbon monoxide and smoke detector in the family room. The Licensee stated there are no guns in the home. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water on the premises during today's inspection. The facility is operating within its licensed capacity and is in ratio. All required documents are posted on the parent board, The licensee\342\200\231s Pediatric CPR & First Aid has been completed and expires on 11/2026 and the Licensee's Mandated Reporter certificate expires on 9/30/27. The Fire/disaster drills have are current and recorded with the last drill conducted on 10/29/25. LPA reviewed 3 children files and the licensee's file. LPA reminded the Licensee of the Infant Safe Sleep regulations and provided the Licensee a copy of the Safe Sleep regulations. LPA provided a new fire drill log and additional sleep log templates to record each 15 minute check. The Licensee was reminded that the Safe Sleep logs are to be maintained in the child's file. Licensee was reminded that California law requires Licensees to report unusual incidents and/or injuries to children in care, to the child's parents, and to the Department within 24 hours by phone. Within seven (7) days from the incident and Licensee must submit the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624B) to the Department. Licensee was reminded that any structural changes or additions to the home must be reported to Community Care Licensing. Children\342\200\231s Roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drills must be conducted every six (6) months and documented. Licensee was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Licensee was also informed that Mandated Reporter Training ("Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every two (2) years by visiting https://mandatedreporterca.com/ . LPA informed Licensee that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov . The Licensee currently does not provide Incidental Medical Services. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, Licensee Patricia Rodriguez confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A fire clearance inspection was granted on September 4, 2025 by Inspector B. Pizzimenti from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. Before a License for a Large Family daycare to be granted the Licensee must clear the patio in the backyard from the rubbish present and send LPA Loza a photo of the cleared patio. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Patricia Rodriguez. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
