Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kayla Merchant conducted an unannounced Case Management Pool Safety Inspection at Golpar Nosrati's Large Family Child Care Home. Licensee was absent from the facility at this time. LPA met with the licensee's husband Ali Sabzevari and toured the pool area. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection was the licensee's husband, an assistant, 6 preschool aged children and 4 infants in care. All adults present today have a criminal record clearance. Facility hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. LPA inspected the backyard and observed a fully fenced and safe backyard for children with age-appropriate toys. LPA observed gated pool to the right of the home with a tested pool alarm that meets Health & Safety Code (HSC) 1596.814 pool safety requirements. The gate is at least 60 inches in height, with a self-closing, self-latching door with a lock at the top. There is a 2-inch vertical clearance from the ground to the bottom of the gate. The gaps/voids are no more than 4 inches. LPA also observed a life ring and rescue pole with a body hook. The home has three windows that open to the pool area. The facility was previously granted the ability to use gates on the windows to create an additional barrier. Due to changes to pool safety requirements, LPA will discuss with management if further action is needed by the licensee. In the areas that were evaluated, there were no violations cited today. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Ali Sabzevari. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
