Page 1 of 4 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Canela and Merchant arrived unannounced on 07/03/2025 at this Family Child Care Home facility for the purpose of conducting a Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection. Licensee/Applicant has applied for a Large Family Child Care Home with a capacity of fourteen 14. Upon arrival LPAs were greeted by Licensee Chaitanya Kancheti. Licensee stated there are a total of 8 children currently enrolled at the facility. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were seven children, two infant, four pre-school age, and one school-age. Facility hours of operation are Monday \342\200\223 Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. This is a two story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, loft, 3 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, attached garage, and backyard. On-limit areas (accessible to children) : 1st Floor- Living room, hallway bathroom, kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 children's bedroom upstairs, and dining room area Off-limit areas (inaccessible to children) : 2nd Floor - Laundry room, loft, two bedrooms, two bathrooms upstairs, and attached garage. Isolation Area : Toy Bedroom on first floor. Fire Safety Clearance was granted by the Contra Costa County Fire Department on 06/03/2025 for a capacity of 14. Report continued on LIC 809-C Page 2 of 4 Physical Inspection : The LPAs toured on-limit areas accessible to children. LPAs observed toys, play equipment and materials for children. Licensee stated there are no weapons or firearms in the home. There is a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher and Pull-down Fire Alarm. Combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and observed operational. Disaster Drill was conducted on 05/29/2025 and Fire Drill was conducted on 06/13/2025. LPAs did not observed any bodies of water on the premises. Licensee understands that when outside of facility, 100% supervision of children in care is required. Facility does not provide transportation for children; Licensee understands children cannot be left unattended in parked vehicles. Licensee does not provide overnight care. Licensee provides care for infants 24 months and under. There is a working telephone available. Licensee understands smoking is prohibited on the premises. Licensee/Applicant requested to put "kids bedroom" upstairs On-Limits for Licensee's school-age daughter to use. Licensee submitted updated sketch for 2nd floor. Report continued on LIC 809-C Page 3 of 4 Record Review : The facility roster was reviewed and a copy was obtained. Required postings were observed near the hallway. Licensee/Applicant has current Infant First Aid/CPR/AED which expires 2/2026. Applicant has current Mandated Reporter Training which expires Jan/2026. Applicant completed 8 hour EMSA Preventative Health & Safety training. Applicant completed 8 hours EMSA Training for Nutrition and Lead Poisoning. Applicant has required immunizations. Applicant and adults living in the home have Criminal Record Clearance and required Tuberculosis (TB) immunization. The Applicant/Licensee provided proof of control of property. LPA reminded Applicant, when care for more than twelve and up to fourteen is provided, Applicant must notify parents. Applicant has Liability Insurance. LPA reminded licensee day care needs to be operated within the limitations and capacity of a Large family Child Care Home with regard to ratios and Licensee is required to be present in the day care for 80% of the operation hours. Applicant understands that children's personal rights should not be violated and no corporal punishment. Isolation of sick children, supervision of children, capacity options, transportation of children, requirements for reporting suspected child abuse, unusual incidents/injuries and requirements for assistant/substitute were also discussed. Fire drills must be conducted once every six months and documented. The facility does not provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage provided: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep Recalled Infant Devices can be checked on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ Licensee was informed to register all infant devices with the CPSC to ensure notification of any recalls on purchased equipment. Mandated Reporter Training : Any person who works in a child care facility shall complete and renew the training every 2 years. Criminal Record Clearance or Exemption: Licensee/Applicant understands all adults 18 and over residing, living in, or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum per day, per individual, for a maximum of 5 days will be assessed for violation of regulation for uncleared individuals residing or being present in the facility. Licensee/Applicant confirmed there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and the RSO profile was completed. *No deficiencies observed or cited in the areas inspected. Application is complete. Applicant is approved for increase in capacity for a Large Family Child Care Home effective as of today 07/03/2025. Exit interview conducted with Chaitanya Kancheti, Licensee/Applicant, whose signature confirms receipt. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
