On 02/18/2026 at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mone Flores and Kareeca "Reeca" Sykes
conducted an
Unannounced Case Management / Licensee Initiated Inspection
for a change of capacity at Jennifer Hunt's Family Childcare Home. LPAs met with the Licensee, Jennifer Hunt, and explained the purpose of today's inspection.
No children were present during the inspection today. Licensee stated there are eight children enrolled. Residing in the home are the licensee, the licensee's mother, who are both fingerprint cleared and Licensee's minor child. Licensee\342\200\231s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates Sunday - Monday 1 AM- 11 PM. LPAs discussed with the licensee that they cannot have children in care for a 24 hour period.
The home is a two-story home that consists of four (4) bedrooms, four (4) bathrooms, a loft (located upstairs), an office which was converted into the toddler day care room (located downstairs to the left of the entrance), kitchen, dining room which was converted into the school age day care room (located to the right of the entrance), living room, garage, laundry room (located downstairs) and backyard. The entrance to the day care is the front door. The inside and outside of the home were observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. Toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be located in inaccessible areas during today\342\200\231s inspection.
LPAs observed the following precautions: accessible cabinets and drawers in the kitchen have safety latches and the electric fireplace is blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care and located in an off limit area. Stairs located near the front door are blocked off by a safety gate and made inaccessible to children in care.
Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home and one pet (small dog) in the home. LPAs did not observe a body of water in or around home.

ON LIMITS AREA:
The dining room and office (located to the right and left of the entrance), which are the main areas of the day care, the downstairs half (1/2) bathroom which is located next to the office room on the first floor, and the fenced backyard not including the left and right side of the home.
OFF LIMITS AREA:
Bedroom 1 (Master Bedroom) , Bedroom 2, Bedroom 3, Bedroom 4, the master bathroom, bathroom 2, bathroom 3, kitchen, loft (located upstairs) and the garage. The yard is fully fenced and has an AC unit inaccessible by safety gate and supervision.
ISOLATION AREA:
The office, converted day care room, away from other children in care.
OUTSIDE PLAY AREA: backyard (not including the left and right side of the yard), and the park located at the end of street.
INSIDE PLAY AREA: office and dining room which are the converted day care rooms
The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a working dual smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the hallway, a working telephone, and all required forms are posted. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year with the last one conducted on
12/2025.
The licensee's
CPR and First Aid certificate
is current and expires on
12/2026.
The Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a
mandated reporter
and has provided proof of the required training for all people caring for children which was conducted on
12/31/2024 and expires on 12/31/2026
. LPAs obtained a current facility roster, Licensee\342\200\231s mandated reporter training, pediatric CPR and first aid, immunization against influenza, pertussis and measles. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization law.
As of 01/22/2026 Contra Costa County Fire department has granted clearance for fire inspection.
Facility does provide transportation for children and the licensee understands that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at

as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee Jennifer Hunt, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPAs completed the RSO profile in FAS.

LPAs discussed and reminded Licensee that a day care needs to be operated within the limitations and capacity of a Large Family Child Care Home with regards to ratios and that Licensee has to be present in the day care for 80% of the operation hours. All documents have been reviewed for the increase of capacity application. The Licensee was reminded that an assistant is needed with a large family child care home license, and whenever an assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small family child care home.

recommend this home to be Licensed as a Large Family Child Care Home.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Jennifer Hunt.
