What the inspector wrote

On 03/27/2026 at 01:15 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ashley Hollinger and Nicole Reynoso arrived at the facility to conduct an UNANNOUNCED, Annual inspection at Maira & Candida Amaya Garcia ‘s Family Childcare Home. LPAs met with Licensee and explained the purpose of today's inspection. LPAs were granted the inspection authority to enter the Home. Present in the home at the time of inspection were Licensees', Licensee's minor child, Licensees' mom (all adults are fingerprint cleared) , and five children in care consisting of three (3) preschoolers and two (2) infants. The family childcare home days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 07:00 AM to 06:00 PM . The home is a single story home consisting of a living room, kitchen/dining area, three (3) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, an attached garage and fully fenced front, side, and back yards. ON-LIMIT areas: Living room, kitchen, Bathroom 2, the front, side, and back yard. The Isolation Area is the kitchen at the dining table, away from other children in care. There is a fireplace located in the living room but it is never in use, blocked off, and made inaccessible to children in care. OFF-LIMIT areas: Bedrooms 1-3, Bathroom 1, the garage, both storage sheds in the back yard, laundry room, second bathroom and a the garden area in the back yard divided by a small fence. The off-limit areas are blocked off and made inaccessible to children in care by use of gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision at all times. SEE LIC809C------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - --------------- PAGE 2 Medicines, cleaning products, and sharp objects are stored inaccessible to children in care during today's inspection. The home maintains a working telephone. Licensee was reminded that smoking is not allowed in a family childcare home. Licensees states that there are no pets in the home. Licensees stated there are no firearms or ammunition stored in the home. There is a 2A10BC fire extinguisher and dual working smoke and carbon monoxide detector located throughout the home. Children files and facility files were reviewed, and facility also contains a Children's Roster and Fire/Disaster Drill. The last documented fire and earthquake drill was conducted on 02/20/2026. Licensee's Mandated Reporter training expires 01/2028 and CPR/Pediatric First Aid certifications expires 01/13/2028 . LPA toured the backyard and observed it was fenced. LPA observed there are no pools, hot tubs or other bodies of water. The home is sanitized and orderly in compliance with Title 22 Regulations during today's inspection, with heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort of children in care. Licensees were reminded that all adults (18 and over) living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensees and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed Licensees of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensees were informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. On this date, 03/27/2026, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Licensee provided proof of control of property. No Deficiencies were observed during today's visit. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights provided and discussed. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Maira Amaya Garcia .
