What the inspector wrote

On September 23, 2025 at 01:00PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nyeesha Blount conducted an unannounced case management visit for capacity increase. LPA met with Applicant Lacerda, Anne Caroline who is background cleared (4) children were present during today's inspection. LPA toured the home with Applicant for a Health and Safety inspection. Applicant has applied for a Capacity Increase from a Small Family Child Care Home with capacity of (8) children to Large capacity for (14) children. Days and hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Applicant has current Pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid that will expire on July 2026. Applicant has a fully stocked first aid kid. Applicant has current mandated reporter training which expires on May 30, 2026. Applicant currently rents this property. Isolation Area of sick child will be in the living room. Applicant understands that 100% supervision is required at all times and assistant will be needed to care for Large Family Day Care. Applicant has an approved fire clearance dated 09/18/25 from Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Inspector B. Pizzimenti. Fire clearance is approved for 14 children, floor 2 and garage off limits. LPA observed that the day care has sufficient space, lighting, ventilation and an ample supply of age appropriate toys, activities and furniture. The facility has a functioning centralized fire system, carbon monoxide detector, (1) fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. ON LIMIT AREAS: will be living room (day care room), dining room, (1) bathroom, and fenced backyard. OFF LIMIT AREAS: will be the entire upstairs, (3) bedrooms, (2) bathrooms, kitchen and garage secured with latches and gates made inaccessible to children in care. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Licensee was reminded about importance to stay in compliance with mandated reporter training and maintenance of sleep logs for all infants in care . No Deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. Capacity increase approved effective 9/23/25. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Ulloa, Cristina.
