What the inspector wrote

On July 1, 2025 at 08:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nyeesha Blount arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Lauriece Mills, the Director. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30 am-5:30pm. An application was received for a capacity increase for toddler room # 3. LPA conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with Mills. No changes were made throughout the facility since facility was licensed. A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 22, was received from the El Cerrito Fire Department. A clearance for 8 infants 3 to 18 mos. (9) 18 to 30 mos, and (5) preschoolers ages 30 to 48 mos. LPA observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are sufficient amount of sinks and toilets for children to utilize. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPA observed the preschool and toddler outdoor play yard areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPA observed ample amount of shade for children. Preschool outdoor play areas are distinctly separate to toddler care program outdoor play spaces. The building has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. See 809-C for continuance. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. The Director confirmed that there are no firearms on the premises. The preschool rooms are equipped with age-appropriate materials and equipment. Lunch is provided by the parents and snacks are provided by the facility. There is a functioning carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, and fire extinguisher in the center. The Director acknowledged that all staff working at the facility have current CPR and first aid certifications. Capacity Increased granted from previous capacity of 19 to 22 total. There were no deficiencies cited during the inspection. Notice of Site visit was provided and posted. An exit interview was conducted, and report was reviewed with Lauriece, Mills. LPA discussed the following: 100% supervision is required at all times, including in the bathroom; personal rights; inspection authority; reporting requirements; staff to children ratios and capacity; staff qualifications; and maintaining buildings and grounds. LPA discussed with Directo any changes that may occur regarding the director or an employee acting in the director's absence must be reported to department within 10 working days. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. This facility provides if needed Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
