What the inspector wrote

On 8/27/25 at 8:40am Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jamel Maiwandi and Catherine Fernandes conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Director Sara Zech. Facility is requesting to be licensed for 30 school age children in classrooms 1 and 2 and 12 toddlers in classroom 1. Hours of operation for the s chool age program will operate 2:00p.m. to 6:00p.m, Monday through Friday . Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were 24 children. LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured the toddler and the two school age classrooms. Total indoor activity space for the school age program measured at 1,316.29 sq .ft, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 30 school-age children. Total indoor activity space for the the toddler program measured at 372.54 sq.ft, which will not accommodate the request for 12 children and will remain at 10 toddlers. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 8/4/25. LPAs observed a total of one of the two working sinks and four toilets in two stalls available for children\342\200\231s use. These are not sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 30 children. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the license and director will notify LPAs: - The school age sink needs to be in working order. Director understands that all proof of corrections must be provided to the Department within 30 days, or the application may be denied. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP . A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. A notice of site visit was given to the facility and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Sarah Zech.
