What the inspector wrote

Today, January 29, 2026, at approximately 12:50 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Paulita De La Cruz, met with the licensee, Ms. Marie Doboue, for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. Living in the home is the licensee and her 14-year old son. The licensee has an on-call assistant who is fingerprint cleared. The facility operates Monday thru Friday, 7:30AM - 6:00PM. The licensee serves children 0 - 14 years of age. Six (6) children were present during this visit, 2 infants and 4 preschoolers. A health and safety tour of the home was conducted inside and outside. This is a one-level home with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living/dining room, and kitchen. The third bedroom located to the right side of the home from the front door is being utilized as a day care room along with the living room, and serves as an isolation area for sick children, if needed. Varied and age appropriate equipment and toys/materials are available for children. The home is equipped with a 3A40BC fire extinguisher and functioning combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. There are no firearms in the home, per the licensee. There are no bodies of water present inside and outside of the home. The outside play area, is fenced in all around and the stairs are gated for safety. The licensee and her assistant have current pediatric CPR/First Aid certificates and both are valid thru 9/2027. The licensee has completed Mandated Reporter Training on 11/20/2025 and her assistant 1/19/2026. The home has central heating and the wall vent is screened. The home is also equipped with a combination heater/AC unit located in the dining/kitchen area that is mounted high on the wall. On-limit-areas include: The living/dining areas, two (2) day care rooms, kitchen, two (2) bathrooms, and the play yard. There are no hazardous cleaning chemicals and/or objects accessible to children. Off-limit-areas include: Two (2) bedrooms. Child safety gates/latches and/or adult supervision is utilized to keep children from accessing the areas. The children's records were reviewed. The licensee is maintaining an infant sleep log for all infants in care. An emergency drill is being conducted on a monthly basis and a log is being maintained. A facility roster is also being maintained. All licensing required documents are posted and readily available for public review. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The facility currently do not have children in care needing Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the licensee of the importance of checking for and removing recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. On this date, 1/29/2026, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility address. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters, and other important information communication platforms. To receive important licensed related information to licensed fa9cilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. A notice of site visit was given to applicant and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. There were no deficiencies cited during this visit. An exit interview was conducted and report reviewed with the Licensee, Ms. Marie Doboue.
