What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cherie Acosta met with applicant Parul Madan for an announced Change of Location/ Prelicensing Inspection. Present during the inspection was the applicant, her fingerprint cleared husband and minor child. Applicant states that the hours of operation will be 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday. The home was toured for a Health and Safety Inspection. The home is a single story home. The home consists of a kitchen, living room, office, dining room, play room, day care room, 4 bedroom, 3 bathrooms, laundry room and garage. The on limit area that will be used for child care are the play room located near the entrance of the home, the day care room located to the left of the entrance of the home, the dining room, and the hallway bathroom located near bedroom #2 . The remainder of the home will be off limits to children in care. Off limit areas will be inaccessible by use of gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision The Isolation Area will be the play room. The fenced backyard will be used for outdoor play. There are age appropriate toys in the home. The home has a swimming pool that is enclosed with a mesh fence. The fence has a self closing gate with a key lockable device that opens away from the pool. Applicant has a pool alarm that sounds upon entry to the pool. Applicant has a rescue pole with a body hook that is a fixed length of 12 feet and a life ring with a 20 inch diameter and a United States Coast Guard approval label. There are no firearms in the home as stated by the applicant. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children today. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. There is a working telephone in the home. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The home has a screened fireplace in the off limits area of the home. The applicant has current CPR/First Aid which expires 08/27. Applicant completed mandated reporter training 12/5/23. Applicant is in compliance with required immunizations. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The applicant owns the home and has provided proof of control of property. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. On this date, 04/30/2025 , the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-carelicensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication Prior to licensure and before 9/17/25 applicant shall correct the following: -applicant shall ensure the pool enclosure has a maximum vertical clearance of two inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure. -applicant shall ensure there are protrusions, cavities, or other physical characteristics that would serve as handholds or footholds that could enable a child to climb over the pool fence. -applicant shall ensure there are no gaps or voids in the enclosure that can allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter equal to or greater than four inches.
