What the inspector wrote

On May 16, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza arrived at the facility for an announced prelicensing inspection. LPA met with applicant Magda Interian-Ochoa. The applicant lives in the home with her husband, minor son, and a pet cat. LPA toured the home for a health and safety check. The applicant plans to care for children ages 0 months - 12 years old, and operate on Monday - Friday between 6am - 11pm. The home is a two-story single family house. The lower level consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, garage, fully fenced in backyard with an enclosed driveway, and a walkway on the left side of the house (when facing the house from the street). The upper level of the home consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an an office space. The Off Limit Areas are the kitchen, and both bedrooms on the lower level, the garage, and the entire 2nd floor. The off limits areas are made inaccessible by gate, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The On Limit Areas are the living room, downstairs bathroom, dining room, entryway of the home, enclosed driveway, and the entire backyard. Isolation Area - in the entryway of the home Inside the home the LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate toys, activities and equipment for children, which appeared to be safe and in good condition. The main daycare area is the living room and dining room. LPA did not observe any medication, bodies of water, or poisons accessible to children during the inspection today. Per applicant there are no firearms in the home. The home is equipped with a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher. There is a working combined smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the living room. The applicant's CPR certificate expires 11/18/25. The applicant's Mandated Reporter certificate expires on 12/8/26. The applicant plans on using the enclosed driveway and backyard for outdoor play. The home has a central heating system. Applicant is reminded that CPR/First Aid is also renewed every two years. Baby bouncers & drop-down cribs are not allowed at the day-care facility . Roster of the children must be properly maintained and fire/disaster drill conducted every six months must be documented. The applicant is reminded any structural changes to the home or additions to the child care facility must be reported to Community Care Licensing. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. On this date 5/16/2025, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. A copy of the house deed was provided and shows control of property. This home does not plan to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. A Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The licensee was also reminded that Mandated Reporter Training is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting www.mandatedreporterca.com . Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-carelicensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. A fire inspection was conducted on May 9, 2025 by Inspector B. Pizzimenti of the Contra Costa Fire Protection District and a fire clearance was granted. The license for the home has been granted and is licensed as of May 16, 2025. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Magda Interian-Ochoa. Report provided.
