What the inspector wrote

On 7/9/2024 at 2:40pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with Licensee Yanping Luo for an Unannounced Capacity Increase Inspection. Present during the inspection was the Licensee, her husband, their two (2) minor children, an adult helper, two (2) infants and four (4) preschool age children. Licensee lives in the home with her husband and their three (3) sons. Licensee\342\200\231s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates 8:00am \342\200\223 5:30pm, Monday \342\200\223 Friday. ON LIMITS AREA : Living Room (Childcare Area), Downstairs Bedroom (Behind Kitchen used as Nap Room), Downstairs Bathroom (Next to Living Room) and Right Side of Backyard OFF LIMITS AREA : Entire 2 nd Floor, Kitchen, Family Room, Dining Area, Downstairs Bedroom (Used as Office), Office Area, Downstairs Bathroom (Next to Off-Limit Bedroom), Garage and Left Side of Backyard ISOLATION AREA : Nap Room This home was granted a fire clearance on 6/17/2024 from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection Department with the condition of the second floor and garage remain off limits. The facility is a two-story home owned by the Licensee. The home consists of primary bedroom and bathroom, five (5) additional bedrooms, four (4) additional bathrooms, living room, family room, kitchen, dining area, laundry room, office area, 2nd floor loft area, garage, and backyard. Page 1 of 2 The inside of the home was observed to be neat, clean with ample age-appropriate materials for the children. All toxins, cleaning products, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. Licensee provides all food for the children that is properly stored and maintained. All food that may be brought from the children\342\200\231s home will be properly labeled and stored. Licensee stated there are no firearms and no pets in the home. There is a 2A10BC fire extinguisher on the wall next to the kitchen. There are working smoke detectors in all six (6) bedrooms and in all hallways. There is a working carbon monoxide detector in the hallway leading to the nap room downstairs and a working smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the living room/childcare area. The stairs are gated making the 2nd floor and the staircase inaccessible to the children in care. The electric fireplace in the living room/childcare area is blocked by furniture and not in use. The electric fireplace in the family room is gated and not accessible to the children in care. LPA obtained the fire/disaster drill log, log is complete with the last drill logged 5/30/2024. All adults living and working in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A license for a large family childcare home has been granted today, 7/9/2024. A notice of site visit was given to licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
