What the inspector wrote

On February 7, 2025 at 9:10am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Julia Placencia arrived unannounced for an Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with director Tasha Turnage and licensee Brijeeta Patel. Present during the inspection were 49 children (6 toddlers and 43 preschool age) and an additional 9 staff members. The facility, consisting of three preschool classrooms and one toddler classroom, was toured for a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 5:30pm. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible during the visit. The toilets and sinks were safe, sanitary and in operable condition. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and floors are free of tripping hazards. The kitchen/food preparation and storage areas were observed to be clean and free of evidence of rodents, and food is protected against contamination. All storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers that are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Children bring their own lunches, however, breakfast and snacks are provided. Menus are posted for parents to view. Medications are inaccessible to children. There are no pools or similar bodies of water at this facility. Outdoor activity space and playground equipment observed to be safe and free of hazards. Climbing equipment is properly anchored to the ground with adequate and appropriate cushioning material to absorb falls. Fire/Disaster Drills are conducted at least every six months, and a review of the log shows the last drill was conducted 1/16/25. Required licensing documents were posted. Fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors meet State Fire Marshall standards. The facility is operating within its licensed capacity. The facility is within ratio today with one teacher supervising no more than 12 preschoolers, and one teacher supervising no more than 6 toddlers.
