What the inspector wrote

Per California Code of Regulations Title 22 Division 12 Chapter 1, the following deficiency is being cited today (See 9099-D). Appeal rights were provided. Upon receipt, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. Licensee must have all parents of enrolled children sign the Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports and must retain a copy in each child\342\200\231s file. Since the date of the incident (08/19/2021), Coordinator of Early Education-Preschool, Lori Welch, took immediate action to prevent a similar incident from occurring. The following measures were taken: - Safety & Supervision protocols were provided to all preschool staff on 08/19/2021. - Safety & Supervision meeting took place with all preschool staff in-person on 08/20/2021. - Facility implemented \342\200\230How many friends are here today? Let\342\200\231s count together!\342\200\231 signs at facility. Signs are posted near exit points. - Lori Welch conducted on-site observations on 08/20/2021 to ensure preschool staff were following safety & supervision protocols. Exit interview conducted with Lori Welch and Sandra Olivo.

  • RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROVIDING CARE AND SUPERVISION

    No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). Supervision shall include visual observation. This requirement was not met as evidenced through statements collected through interviews with staff. Staff interviewed acknowledged a child was left unattended without supervision. This poses an immediate risk to the health, safety, and personal rights of children in care.
