Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 12/17/2024, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aurelio Mendoza conducted an unannounced case management inspection. They met with Assistant Director Carol Gallegos Gonzalez, who accompanied them on a tour of the facility inside and outside. The purpose of the case management inspection visit was to review requirements for the infant outdoor play area. LPM spoke with District Manager (DM) Hailey Engelke via phone, who was unaware the facility held an infant license with a toddler option program. LPM clarified that each program requires its own outdoor play area. Staff interviews revealed infants are not taken outside to play but are pushed in a large stroller. LPM noted the facility sketch incorrectly labels the toddler play area and that there is no outdoor play area for infants. LPM stated that this unresolved issue had been identified in August 2024 and requires updated paperwork to reflect compliance with Title 22. LPM reviewed the admission agreement forms for the toddler option program and informed DM they lack the required language per Title 22, Section 101417 \342\200\223 Toddler Component in an Infant Care Center. A copy of the regulation was provided. LPM and DM discussed removing the toddler option program, allowing the conversion of the toddler room into an additional infant room, resulting in four infant rooms. An updated application will be submitted no later than 01/02/2025. ***Please 809-C*** No deficiencies cited per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1. An exit interview was conducted with Assistant Director Carol Gallegos Gonzalez. A copy of the report and Appeal Rights were provided, and a Notice of Site Visit was posted on the parent board, to remain posted for 30 days. ***End of Report***
