What the inspector wrote

On 8/24/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Pacheco conducted an announced Case Management inspection and met with Clovis Unified School District Preschool Coordinator, Tara Logan. Facility was closed and no children were present during today\342\200\231s inspection. LPA toured the inside of the facility. The licensee is currently licensed for 26 preschool children and is requesting to utilize a brand new portable classroom for its indoor activity area which is in the exact same location of the previous portable that was torn down. This program currently operates one half day session Monday \342\200\223 Friday on a traditional school year schedule. AM session is 8:15 AM to 11:15 AM. Preschool Coordinator stated that the program offers breakfast. Food is prepared offsite at a centralized kitchen and delivered daily. Ill children will be isolated in the calming area of the classroom and will utilize the bathroom in the nurse\342\200\231s office in the administration building. Cleaning supplies are kept in locked storage closets which are inaccessible to children. The classroom was observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment in the classroom appeared to be safe and in good condition. The classroom has a working carbon monoxide detector installed next to the handwashing sinks in the classroom. LPA observed that there are plenty of tables and chairs. LPA observed plenty of age appropriate items & toys. Room measurements in classroom was taken and reviewed with Preschool Coordinator. The total inside preschool area of the classroom measured to an approximate 1,115 square feet which will accommodate the licensed capacity of 26 preschool children. There are a total of 2 toilets and 2 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate 26 preschool children. Facility currently has a waiver on file to share the outdoor activity area with Fresno EOC Pinedale Head Start #103801398. Facility uses water fountains to provide water during outdoor activities. The outdoor activity area was not measured as there have been no changes to the preschool children\342\200\231s outdoor area. LPA reminded Preschool Coordinator to make sure they maintain visual supervision of children at all times. Preschool Coordinator stated that a fire inspection was conducted on 8/23/23 by the City of Fresno Fire Department but has not obtained documentation showing the facility was given a fire clearance. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C The following items must be completed prior to issuing a license for the above classroom. Inside Daycare: 1) Anchor tall furniture to prevent from tipping over. 2) Provide documentation showing the facility was issued a fire clearance for the new classroom. Pending a final file review and completion of the above items, a recommendation will be made to license the above classroom for a capacity of 26 preschool children. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Preschool Coordinator, Tara Logan. A copy of this report is to remain in the facility for public review. A notice of site visit was given to Preschool Coordinator and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
