On 10/7/2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Araceli Gibson, conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Preschool Program Supervisor, Erica Whitney. Preschool has two sessions for preschool AM with 15 children. LPA toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors to inspect areas accessible to children in care. Play yard waiver in place for shared kindergarten playground. This year the school year started 08/22/22 and ends on 06/09/22 and operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises . There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Playground, furniture and equipment are in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and monitored for hazards. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA discussed an issue with a slow draining sink filled with soap suds. LPA monitored it for half an hour there was a work order placed on site. LPA also addressed room number not clearly indicated for the classroom work order place for this as well. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Breakfast and lunch is prepared and served in the cafeteria. Lunch is served in the classroom for the preschool children in the PM session. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Currently bottled water is being provided through Valley Springs water company for the children and staff. Play yard has working water fountains accessible to small children. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. As a condition of employment for is for all staff to continue 809C have a fingerprint clearance through Clovis Unified School District prior to working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review have received a criminal record clearance or exemption. Upon notification from the Department, the licensee will comply and act immediately to terminate the employment of, remove from the facility or bar from entering the facility for any person it is deemed necessary while the Department considers granting or denying an exemption. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility or at offsite activities. The name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher designated to act in the director\342\200\231s absence has been reported to the Department. LPA discussed processes with site supervisor regarding maintaining signing children in/out of the facility by authorized representatives at the site. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times while virtual learning format. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in care when in person learning is conducted. LPA reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files and observed files were complete with contact information for authorized representative and or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child and medical assessment. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles and current documentation of completed mandated reporter training. Menus are posted at least one week in advance where an authorized representative can view them. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) are currently being provided.
