Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 05/21/26, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha De Haro conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA De Haro met with teacher Megan Thornton. The purpose of today’s inspection was to conduct a case management inspection and to follow up with the facility regarding a lead exceedance referred to as an Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of over 5.5 parts per billion (ppb) in the water at the facility. LPA conducted a tour of the facility inside and out and a census was taken. Fresno Regional Office (FRO) received notification that the facility had a high lead exceedance from water lead sampling tests collected on 12/9/22 and 1/18/23. During a Case Management inspection on 02/01/23, it was found that Outlets F, D, and E had been retested and were in compliance. Outlet D30 (Playground Bubbler) continued to remain out of compliance as it was continuing to test for high levels of lead. Per teacher Megan Thornton, the facility has since remediated the exceedance by flushing outlet D30 (Playground Bubbler) several times and retesting the outlet. LPA De Haro received retesting results dated 09/01/23 showing that the lead testing results were below 5.5 parts per billion (ppb) for outlet D30. The previous citation issued on 02/01/23 was cleared during today’s inspection. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited during today's inspection. An exit interview was conducted with teacher Megan Thornton.
