Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 01/14/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luisa Gavoutian conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Directors Becky Ihara and Annette Tamez, toured the facility, and took a census. The purpose of today's inspection was to provide technical assistance related to COVID-19. On this date, LPA toured the facility and found staff were wearing face coverings appropriately and some children were wearing face coverings. LPA reminded Directors that children ages two and older should be taught and reminded to wear face coverings per California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Guidance on the Use of Face Coverings issued June 18, 2020 and updated November 16, 2020. LPA provided Directors with a copy of PIN 21-29-CCP: Face Covering Requirements and Guidance for Child Care Providers Regarding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) for review and further guidance on encouraging, teaching, and reminding children to wear face coverings and which notes that CDPH has not authorized licensees, parents, or guardians to waive the child care face covering requirements. LPA also discussed the importance of continued best practices to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, including continuing to perform symptoms screenings on children, staff, and visitors, thorough cleaning and sanitizing, and frequent hand washing. LPA also reminded Directors to continue to report any positive COVID-19 cases to the Department and to Fresno CDPH. During today's inspection, LPA observed children's napping cots were arranged close together and LPA reminded Directors that cots should be arranged so that each child has access to a walkway. Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency cited. Exit interview conducted with Directors Becky Ihara and Annette Tamez. A notice of site visit was provided and must be remain posted for 30 days.
