What the inspector wrote

On 09/22/2021 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diane Mercado made an unannounced Annual required inspection. LPA met with Director, Amelita Davis. There are no bodies of water. Firearms and other weapons are not allowed or stored on the premises of a child care center. The child care center is clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees, and visitors. In combination programs, outdoor activity space provided for school-age children is physically separate from space provided for infant care and child care center children. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children, are inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed durning todays inspection. Furniture and equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. All floors are clean and safe. All kitchen and food preparation and storage areas are kept clean, free of litter, rubbish, and free of rodents and other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available both indoors and out. Outdoor activity space surfaces are free of hazards. The facility maintains compliance with staff-child ratios. Breakfast and snacks are provided and children bring lunch from home. Lunches are properly labeled and stored. Menus are posted. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements . There is a separate, complete, and current record maintained for each child enrolled in the child care center. Each child's record contains a medical assessment. A licensee's failure to comply with the department\342\200\231s exclusion order after being notified of the order shall be grounds for disciplining the licensee. The department has inspection authority as specified in Health & Safety Codes. The department shall notify a licensee to remove/bar any person with specified convictions or for other reasons. The licensee shall comply with the notice. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Amelita Davis. The licensee shall not exceed the approved capacity of the fire clearance for the facility. No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at any time. Prior to working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to criminal record review have obtained a clearance or criminal record exemption, or clearance. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.
