Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 4/13/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diana Martinez conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Director Sheila Stewart, toured the facility inside and outside, and obtained census. The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the new play structure that was installed in the outdoor play area for the preschool children\342\200\231s use. LPA observed one right-turn slide and two side-by-side straight slides. Children access the slides by way of two sets of stairs with railings and a separate climber. Play structure also includes a shade structure. Pour-in-place rubber cushioning, to absorb falls, is beneath the entire structure. Manufacturer specifications state the new play structure is suitable for children ages 2-5 years old. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Play structure is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA reminded Director to ensure that manufacturer\342\200\231s instructions are followed at all times when using the play structure and to discuss with staff best practices for maintaining visual supervision at all times when children are playing outdoors. Effective today, 4/13/22, the facility may begin using the new outside play structure for preschool children. Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiencies cited during today's visit. An exit interview was conducted with Director Sheila Stewart and a copy of this report was provided and discussed. A Notice of Site Visit Form (LIC 9213) was posted on parent's board and must remain posted for 30 days.
