Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 12/09/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valentin Hernandez and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Scott Herring conducted a Case Management Inspection of newly added climbing play structure at the Facility. LPA Hernandez and LPM Herring met with Area Manager, Joyce Hurtado and toured the facility and census was taken. No children were present. Area Manager, Joyce Hurtado contacted Regional Office (RO) to inform RO that the new climbing play structure had been installed in the outdoor play area for the preschool children\342\200\231s use. LPA Hernandez and LPM Herring observed and inspected the new climbing play structure. The play structure also includes a shade structure. Pour-in-place rubber cushioning and wood chips, to absorb falls, is beneath the entire structure. Manufacturer specifications state the new play structure is suitable for children ages 2-5 years old. Play structure is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The new climbing structure met all title 22 requirements. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. LPA Hernandez and LPM Herring reminded Area Manager Joyce Hurtado to ensure that manufacturer\342\200\231s instructions are followed at all times when using the play structure and to discuss with staff best practices for maintaining visual supervision at all times when children are playing outdoors. Effective today, 12/09/2025, the facility may begin using the new outside climbing structure for preschool children use. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. An exit interview was conducted with Area Manager, Joyce Hurtado.
