On 01/08/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Miguel Herrera conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA made contact via phone with Licensee Mariyuri Bravo who was out of town due to a personal emergency. Licensee Bravo gave LPA permission to conduct the inspection with her husband/assistant. LPA met with Assistant, Victor Bravo, who accompanied LPA on a tour of the facility. LPA Herrera reviewed regulation CCR 102417(a) with Mr. Bravo and he understood that licensee must be present 80% of the time during operating hours. The day-care had 11 children present at today\342\200\231s inspection. LPA Herrera also observed 2 assistants present during today inspection. The areas of the home that are accessible to the day-care children are the playroom, nook, living room, dining room, bedroom 1 and bedroom 3, hallway bathroom and fenced backyard. All off-limits rooms are made inaccessible by doorknob spinners, and lever locks. Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home. Swimming pool is fenced per regulation. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. Licensee Bravo complies with AB 2866 \342\200\223 Pool Safety requirements. Licensee is aware of child safety around the pool and assumes all responsibility. Licensee ensures that children in care are always supervised. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced. LPA Herrera advised Licensee to regularly maintain the pool fence as weather, and normal wear and tear can degrade the fence over time. There are no firearms present in the home. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. There is a fireplace with a glass enclosure made inaccessible in the living room. Fireplace is not in use during day care hours. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service. To be continued on 809-C. There are 4 infants enrolled. LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee specifically speaking to license capacity 4 infants in care at a time. There should be one crib or play yard for each infant in care. Cribs and play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. LPA Herrera reminded Mr. Bravo that infants should not be swaddled or be put in a sleeping sack, Mr. Bravo stated that she understood. Provider stated that they physically check on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes, Mr. Bravo provided 15 minute sleeping logs documenting for the 4 infants in care. During today's inspection LPA Herrera observed 2 infants sleeping in separate rooms with the door closed which prevent the provider to visually observe the children sleeping. LPA Herrera observed infant sleeping plans (LIC 9227) on file for all infants 12 months and younger. LPA reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files and observed files were complete with immunizations and required records. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training expires on 2/2026. Licensees\342\200\231 pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 10/2027. Licensee\342\200\231s assistants were present and were able to provide evidence of immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, and measles. All 3 assistants had a current Mandated Reporter Training. Additionally, 2 assistant had a current pediatric CPR/First Aid. LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2). Mr. Bravo was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
