Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 03/21/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeovanna Yanez conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA was greeted by Licensee's Assistant, Adriana Reyes. Present during today's inspection were seven(7) children. The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the backyard due to the in-ground pool and jacuzzi barricade/fencing not meeting Title 22 Regulations during case management inspection conducted on 03/21/2024. During the inspection, Licensee, Ana Wence de Vaca, arrived and continued the inspection with LPA. Licensee stated the pool and jacuzzi will be used for Licensee's personal use only, and will be off-limits for day care children and during day care operating hours. The pool is located in the backyard. Licensee stated her backyard will remain "off-limits" to daycare children. LPA observed mesh fencing that completely surrounds the pool and jacuzzi, and blocks access into the bodies of water. LPA took measurements of the height of the fence, any openings in the fence and the space between the bottom of the fence and the concrete. The mesh fencing was measured at five (5) feet tall, and is anchored to the ground. LPA observed the mesh fencing was installed on concrete and anchored. LPA observed the fence door opens away from the pool and is self-closing and self-latching. The latch is located within the top 6 inches of the pool gate. The mesh fencing meets Title 22 regulations and Division 1, Appendix Chapter 4 of the 1994 Uniform Building Code. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were observed today. Exit interview conducted with Licensee, Ana Wence de Vaca. A notice of site visit (LIC 9213) was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
