Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 05/27/2026 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Miguel Herrera conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA met with licensee Elsa Batres, who toured the facility with LPA. The purpose of today’s inspection was to approve the back yard to be accessible to the day care children. LPA observed a patio cover structure that provides shade to children in care. Under the patio structure LPA observed a child size picnic table. LPA observed a swing set that is age appropriate, the swing set is anchored and placed on top of the artificial turf. The swing set is located under a shade sail that provides shade to children. The backyard has an open space with artificial turf for children to play and on each side of the yard there are two soccer goals nets. LPA reminded Licensee Batres to ensure the nets remain anchored to the ground to mitigate any risk to children in care. The area intended for children is fenced off and LPA did not observe any hazards in the designated outdoor area where children will play. LPA Herrera was able to approve the backyard and licensee had the backyard sketch updated to show the enclosed area as accessible to children in care. LPA reminded licensee as best practice to go out and survey the backyard prior to children going out to ensure that it is free and clear of any potential hazards. As of 05/27/2026, the back yard has been approved for use by day care children. Per Title 22, Division 12, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Elsa Batres. Licensee was provided appeal rights. This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
