What the inspector wrote

On 10/24/25 @ 11:24am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erica Laird conducted an unannounced case management inspection. At the time of inspection Deanna Hamilton stated she had 10 children in care. During today's inspection LPA Laird observed 15 children in care. Deanna stated two of the children were here while their mother was at an appt. and would be leaving in a couple of hours. Deanna stated one child is her assistant's child. LPA Laird reiterated ratio and capacity requirements. At 11:24am LPA Laird observed one child sleeping in a rocker seat with a blanket. (1 photo taken) At 11:38am LPA Laird heard a child crying from a back bedroom. Deanna stated that was her assistant's (S1) baby. LPA Laird observed the door to be closed. LPA Laird looked in the bedroom at 11:47am and observed a rocker seat with a blanket. LPA Laird asked S1 if their baby was sleeping in the rocker and S1 stated "yes". (1 photo taken). LPA Laird asked for safe sleep logs. Licensee was unable to find them. Licensee was cited for ratio on 6/20/25. Licensee submitted a statement of understanding regarding ratio requirements to licensing on 10/15/25. Licensee submitted a statement of understanding regarding safe sleep regulations on 10/15/25. Based on observations, and previous citations for similar violations, the following deficiency(ies) are being cited on the LIC809-D. LPA Erica Laird informed licensee Deanna Hamilton that this report dated 10/24/25 documents 2 Type A citation(s) which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is an immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. LPA Erica Laird informed the licensee, Deanna Hamilton to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 10/24/25 that documents any Type A citation(s) to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Deanna Hamilton. Appeal Rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
