What the inspector wrote

An unannounced case management inspection was conducted today at 11:45 AM by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Noah Wheeler. LPA met with licensee Site Supervisor Kim Ammons. In response to an Unusual Incident Report received by the Department on 09/25/2024. The allegation is that on 09/24/2024, a teacher, Jonathan LaPlante (S1) reported that a classroom assistant Lennot Foster (S2) was holding a child's arm walking to the dramatic play area. The Child (C1) fell to their knees and (S2) continued to walk a short distance while still holding C1's arm. The Site Supervisor Kim Ammons was interviewed on 10/24/2024 at 11:45 AM and stated that on 09/24/2024, during nap time, a child, who was not sleeping, was playing in an area that they weren\342\200\231t supposed to be in and assistant Lennot Foster was ushering C1 to go back to the play area they were meant to be in and while doing so C1 fell/ \342\200\234plopped\342\200\235 to the floor while assistant Lennot was holding C1\342\200\231s hand. Assistant Lennot, who is a taller man, held C1\342\200\231s arm until he noticed C1 was on the ground. Kim stated C1 did not show any signs of distress from incident. Kim stated that Teacher Jonathan Laplante is no longer working at the facility. Continued on 809-C Two staff/ witnesses were interviewed on 10/24/2024 and stated that they did not feel there was any violation of C1\342\200\231s rights and stated that assistant Lennot did not drag or yank child in any matter but held onto hand/arm to make sure child was not going to hurt themselves. During today\342\200\231s inspection, the facility was toured. LPA observed facility staff providing adequate care to children in care. There were no deficiencies cited during today\342\200\231s inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Site Supervisor.
