What the inspector wrote

On 05/30/2025 at 10:15 am, an office meeting was conducted to discuss deficiency cited on 1/17/2025. Present at the meeting were Licensee Representative, Cheryl Lyon; Center Director, Elizabeth Veliz; Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Tulam Vu and Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Adrian Castellon and Jacqueline Macias. On 1/17/2025 during a complaint investigation, the facility was cited a Type A deficiency, Section 101229(a)(1) Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision: A two year old daycare child was left unsupervised on the playground for approximately 3-5 minutes. LPM discussed with Licensee Representative and Center Director the above deficiency, transitioning procedures and violations to prevent future violations which will lead to civil penalty assessment(s) and a Non-Compliance Conference (NCC). Director stated that all staff members have received training regarding supervision of children. It was noted that the Director corrected the deficiency in a timely manner. LPM suggested to view training videos from the Community Care Licensing website. Center Director stated that they implemented the face to name procedures, walkie talkies, installed cameras, and additional checks of the playground when transitioning to and from the playground. Center Director stated that ongoing trainings are conducted with all staff. Technical Support Program (TSP) services/training was discussed with Licensing Representative and the Center Director during the meeting and advised Center Director to register for Provider Information Notifications (PINs). Licensee Representative and Center Director are interested in the TSP program. Licensee Representative and Center Director were informed that repeated violations or failure to comply with licensing laws and regulations may result in administrative action taken by the Department. Licensee Representative and Center Director stated they understood and will ensure the facility complies with all regulations and laws governing Child Care Centers .
