On January 8, 2026, at 10:12 a.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Angela Nguyen and Saray Siqueiros- Frayre conducted an unannounced Annual inspection. LPA met with Facility Representative, Maria Silva and disclosed the purpose of inspection. LPAs were led on a tour of the inside and outside of the facility by the Facility Representative. There was one infant being supervised by one teacher and nine toddlers being supervised by two staff members on the playground. Appropriate Title 5 staffing ratios are maintained during the inspection. The facility follows the yearly schedule of Calipatria School District. Hours of operation are Monday \342\200\223 Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items were made inaccessible to the children in care. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Furniture and equipment in the classroom was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Infant changing table were within arms reach of the sink. LPAs observed the play structure on the play ground were age appropriate and in good repair. At 10:25am, LPAs observed the door to the cover of the gas and electric heater was detached and three rusted nailed were protruding towards the play area. Facility Representative reinforced door to cover during the inspection. Areas around high climbing equipment were observed to have sufficient cushioning material by the use of sand to absorb falls. Shade was observed in the outdoor activity space by the use of a canopy. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Facility Representative stated that there are no swimming pools or other bodies of water on the premises. Facility Representative stated there are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. The facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector and a first aid kit that meet statutory requirements. The last fire drill was conducted and documented on 12/18/2025. Earthquake drill was conducted on 12/18/2025. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. Children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than four (4) children in care. Facility provides breakfast, lunch and PM snack for the children. Kitchen was inspected. Cleaning compounds were stored separately from food. The name of the facility representative and the fully qualified teacher designated to act in the facility representative\342\200\231s absence has been reported to the Department. LPA reviewed facility physical sign in /sign out sheets. Facility Representative was reminded that the person who signs the child in and out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day. LPAs reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files and observed the files were complete with contact information for authorized representative and/or relatives or others who can assume responsibility for medical assessment. At least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility. LPA reviewed a sample of staff files and observed files were complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles and current documentation of completed mandated reporter training. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of \342\200\234medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Facility Representative states she will submit updated LIC 309, copy of director's packet and board of resolution to the Department within 30 days. Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; California\342\200\231s consumer education website for locating child care services.
